Your skin's natural oils are often stripped during the bathing process, whether from hot water or harsh products. Glycerin can help lock in your skin's natural moisture and prevent over-drying.
 
Real soap is made by combining a natural vegtable oil base with lye, otherwise known as sodium hydroxide.  Vegetable glycerin is the natural byproduct of the fats combinded with the lye. Fragrance (typically added with essential oils) and other botanicals can be added to provide additional benefits to the skin and give it a fabulous smell.
 
Glycerin is a humectant, which means it attracts moisture and draws it deep into your skin to keep it hydrated. If you've been using a commercial soap for a long time, you may find your skin has become dry, flaky and tight.  Using glyserin on your face and body will draw moisture to your skin, and lock the water molecules in place.  Your skin may feel moist for several hours after use, so when you use it regularly, you should feel your skin softening. 
 
When your skin stays properly hydrated, it helps prevent wrinkles and stretch marks.  This makes glycerin soap an anti-ageing product, since it keeps your skin healthy all the time. As such, it's a great pH, the skin is able to retaim the moisture and remain fresh throughout.
 
When you use commercial soaps, your skin often dries out. Your body tries to compensate for this bt making more oil.  In the end, it just clog your pores, and constrinute to blemishes.  If you're already dealing with acne, this is the last thing you need.
